What is a health ministry?
A health ministry focuses on the needs of the people it serves, both members and the community at large. Its strength is in listening and teaching. The ultimate goal of the ministry is to equip each member to incorporate whole-person health principles and experience the abundantlife promised by God physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
A faith community nurse is a registered nurse who
practices under the community nursing scope and standards, and focuses on the intentional care of the spirit as part of the process of promoting wholistic health and preventing or
minimizing illness
within a faith community. International care of the spirit is what makes this practice different from other nursing care.
